Kate Cornish is an ACS award winning cinematographer with a flair for shooting bold and dynamic visuals in narrative, documentary and commercial work. She is passionate about authentic representation in her storytelling.
In 2024, Kate wrapped production on her first feature film, Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story (Stan/CBS Studios/Easy Tiger). She immediately followed this as DoP for the tv series Optics (ABC/ Easy Tiger - ACS NSW GOLD award winner), and Season 3 of Netflix’s Heartbreak High to be released in 2025.
Originally, Kate made her mark shooting comedy - most notably for SBS show THE FEED in 2019 where she shot over 150 sketches for television and online.
In 2021, Kate was recognised as an emerging talent and named a Canon Australia Ambassador. Canon granted Kate the support to make a film chronicling the untold story of Australia’s Dykes on Bikes (ACS NSW SILVER award winner). You can view the film here.
In 2023 Kate was named by Inside Film as a Rising Talent in cinematography. Following this, she was selected as a recipient of the Screen Australia Credit Maker initiative, which won her a role as DoP on 2023 drama Erotic Stories produced by Lingo Pictures.
