Contact details and biography for Kate Cornish.

 

Kate Cornish is an award winning cinematographer and director from Sydney whose work has been featured at SFF, MiFF, Flickerfest and across Australian television. Kate has a knack for shooting comedy, action and drama, and is passionate about authentic queer representation in her storytelling. 

As Kate launched her freelance career she began to make her mark shooting comedy - most notably for SBS show THE FEED in 2019 where she shot over 150 sketches for television and online.

In 2021, Kate was recognised as an emerging talent and named a Canon Australia Ambassador. Canon granted Kate the support to make a film chronicling the untold story of Australia’s Dykes on Bikes. In 2022 the film was awarded a Silver by the Australian Cinematographers Society in the category of documentary. You can view the film here.

Kate's current work spans across the narrative, documentary and music video spaces. She recently served as DoP on the brand new Channel 7 sketch show, We Interrupt This Broadcast, produced by Helium Pictures. In 2023 Kate was named by Inside Film as a Rising Talent in cinematography. Following this, she was selected as a recipient of the Screen Australia Credit Maker initiative, which won her a role as DoP on 2023 drama Erotic Stories produced by Lingo Pictures.
